Wingate, N.C.----The Mars Hill University Lions picked up a 70-64 victory at Wingate University in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action Saturday afternoon in Cuddy Arena. Mars Hill improves to 9-5 overall and 3-5 in the SAC, while the Bulldogs fall to 7-7 overall and 2-6 in league play.

- Mars Hill shot 47 percent from the field, going 12-for-23 from three-point range (52 percent)

FIRST HALF
- Vick's triple four minutes in gave the Bulldogs a 10-5 lead
- A Christian Foy three put the Lions on top 14-12 with 14 minutes left
- Miller answered with a three to put the 'Dogs back on top
- MHU scored the next nine, taking a 23-15 lead on a Jaheim Taylor triple
- A Jonathan Brandtner three at the midway point gave the Lions a nine-point cushion
- Vick answered with a three, while two Derek Bradley free throws made it 28-24
- The Lions scored the next eight, going on top 36-24 on a Keenan Wilkens triple at the 4:33 mark
- Wingate closed the half on a 10-2 run, cutting the lead to four
- Miller had eight points in the spurt, knocking down a pair of threes to make it 38-34 at halftime
SECOND HALF
- Campbell's layup three minutes into the second half pulled Wingate within one
- Miller's triple at the 15:27 mark put the 'Dogs on top 43-41
- Mars Hill scored the next seven, taking a 48-43 lead on two Marvin Hires free throws with 13 minutes left
- Pack's three-point play pulled the Bulldogs back within two
- A Gabriel Erbeck triple at the 9:47 mark gave the Lions a 53-48 advantage
- Wilkins buried a three with 6:46 to go, extending the lead to nine
- Vicke's dunk a minute later cut the lead to five at 60-55
- Two free throws and a jumper from Vick made it a four-point game with 3:20 to go
- Vick's layup with 26 seconds remaining made it a two-point game
- Wingate forced a turnover to get the ball back with 18 seconds left
- The Bulldogs turned it back over 10 seconds later
- The Lions went four-for-four at the line in the final seven seconds to secure the win
