Newberry, S.C.----The Newberry College Wolves outscored visiting Wingate University 46-34 in the second half Wednesday night en route to a 77-7 victory in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action. Newberry improves to 8-7 overall and 4-5 in the SAC, while the Bulldogs fall to 7-8 overall and 2-7 in league play.

FIRST HALF
- Threes from Miller and Quinn gave Wingate a 13-6 lead six minutes in

- Triples from Miller and Quinn pushed the lead to 12 at 25-13
- Newberry scored the next 10, cutting the lead to two on a Drake Downs layup at the 5:28 mark
- A Pack three and Miller jumper stretched the lead back to seven at 32-25
- A Downs layup with 42 seconds left trimmed the lead to three
- Godley's layup with seven seconds to go gave the Bulldogs a 36-31 halftime advantage
SECOND HALF
- Godley's jumper in the opening minute extended the lead to seven
- The Wolves scored eight of the next 10 to cut the lead to one at 40-39
- A Downs triple gave Newberry a 44-42 advantage with 12:47 to go
- Wingate used a 9-0 run, with threes from Vick and Quinn to go on top 53-46
- Two free throws from Campbell put the 'Dogs on top by eight with 9:46 remaining
- A three and a layup from Makhi Rivers pulled the Wolves within three
- Derek Bradley's three-point play gave the Bulldogs a 58-52 lead at the 8:32 mark
- Newberry countered with a 12-0 run, taking a 64-58 lead on a Drew Robinson three with 5:31 left
- A Godley triple pulled Wingate back within three at the 4:26 mark
- The Wolves used another 9-0 run, going on top 73-61 on two Robinson free throws with a minute to go
