Wingate, N.C.----Due to the winter storm hitting the Northeast this week, the top-10 men's lacrosse matchup between Wingate and Adelphi, originally scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 25 at Irwin Belk Stadium, has been canceled. The contest will not be rescheduled. Wingate has added a non-conference contest against Lenoir-Rhyne on March 25.
Adelphi, the number one team in the country and back-to-back national champion, was scheduled to come to North Carolina this week to face #9 Wingate and #7 Lenoir-Rhyne, but is unable to travel due to the winter storm. With Wingate and Lenoir-Rhyne both having a game dropped from their schedule, the two teams will now face each other on Wednesday, March 25 at 7 p.m. in Hickory. It will be a non-conference contest. The Bulldogs and Bears will still meet in the Crown Classic Saturday, March 14 at 4 p.m. in Charlotte, which will be a SAC contest.
