Balanced Bulldogs take down Railsplitters 79-72

Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs had four players score 13 or more points Saturday afternoon, prevailing 79-72 over visiting Lincoln Memorial University in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action in Cuddy Arena. Wingate improves to 11-11 overall and 6-10 in the SAC, while the Railsplitters fall to 14-8 overall and 10-6 in league play.

- Two Miller jumpers and a Vick dunk tied it at 13 at the 13:51 mark
- A Nate Mims triple gave Lincoln Memorial an 18-13 advantage with 12:42 to go
- Neither team scored for nearly six minutes, with a Mims free throw at the 6:52 mark making it 19-13
- A Street layup and Vick triple cut the lead to one with 5:21 remaining
- A Godley layup and Pack triple put the 'Dogs on top 25-24 at the 3:09 mark

- Wingate used another 7-0 run to extend the lead to 16
- A Pack triple and Owens dunk started the flurry; Godley's jumper at the 13:02 mark made it 50-34
- Godley's jumper at the midway point put the 'Dogs on top by 17
- Spearman's three with eight minutes left cut it to nine at 56-47
- A Bradley triple and Vick dunk made it 61-49 with seven minutes left
- Two Campbell free throws pushed the lead to 14 with five minutes to go
- Vick made two free throws with 2:32 remaining to give the Bulldogs a 71-57 lead
- LMU answered with a 10-2 run, making it 73-67 on a Campbell three with 1:05 left
- Two Miller free throws with 25 seconds to go gave Wingate an eight-point cushion
- An Ashton Pennamon layup cut the lead to five at 76-71 with 11 seconds remaining
- Pack's dunk with two seconds left clinched the seven-point victory
