#13 Bulldogs hand Bears first SAC loss of the season

Wingate, N.C.----The 13th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs stayed perfect in league play Wednesday night, prevailing 14-8 over Lenoir-Rhyne University in South Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse action at Irwin Belk Stadium and Founders Field. The 'Dogs improve to 8-2 overall and 4-0 in the SAC, while the Bears fall to 4-6 overall and 4-1 in league play.

SECOND QUARTER

- Buckmaster scored off a Jones assist 42 seconds in to give the Bulldogs the lead
- Solero scored off a Garvin assist a minute later to make it 4-2
- Hailey Larsen's goal at the 11:31 mark cut the lead to one
- Garvin answered with a goal a minute later of Weber's assist
- Rondeau scored off Garvin's assist with 9:34 remaining to make it 6-3
- Kirra Olson's goal with three minutes left pulled LR back within two
- Glover scored off a Slayton assist with 13 seconds left to give WU a 7-4 halftime lead

THIRD QUARTER

- Slayton's goal 80 seconds into the second half stretched the lead to four
- Garvin scored off Benner's assist two minutes later
- A Solero goal off Garvin's assist made it 10-4 at the 10:31 mark
- Glover scored just over a minute later
- Garvin scored off Benner's assist with 2:37 to go, putting the 'Dogs on top 12-4
- Jillian Daley's goal with 1:18 left made it 12-5

FOURTH QUARTER

- Slatyon scored in the opening minute of the final frame to push the lead back to eight
- Glover's goal at the 13:15 mark gave the Bulldogs a 14-5 advantage
- LR scored the final three goals of the night
- Meyer's goal with 1:02 remaining made the final margin 14-8
