Greeneville, Tenn.----The Wingate University Bulldogs opened the season in Tennessee Friday afternoon, dropping a 3-2 match against Erskine, then falling 5-0 against Carson-Newman on day one of the SAC Tournament Weekend, hosted by Tusculum.

MATCH ONE | ERSKINE 3 WINGATE 2 (Box Score)

- Ella Harm and Naomi Hilliard picked up a 23-21, 10-21, 15-11 win at number two pairs
- Amelia Talbott teamed with Ashlyn Buck for a 21-19, 23-21 victory at number four
- Lilou Thieme and Kate Beezer dropped a tough 21-18 opening set at one pairs, falling 21-11 in the second
- London Moultrie and Lilly DeLamielleure dropped a tough 21-19, 21-18 at number three
- Zoe Valan and Riley Key dropped a tight 24-22 second set at number five

MATCH TWO | CARSON-NEWMAN 5 WINGATE 0 (Box Score)

- Thieme and Beezer went the distance at number one, winning set two 24-22 before falling 15-8 in the third
- Moultrie and DeLamielleure fell 21-15, 21-6 at number three
