Luca Poppe ran the second-fastest NCAA Division II 5000 meters time this season in the Bryan Clay Invitational this weekend. Azusa Pacific University hosted this event inside Cougar Stadium.

Poppe posted a time of 13:36.57 in the prestigious Bryan Clay Invite. Colorado School of Mines junior
Dawson Gunn has the fastest 5000 meters time in NCAA Division II this season by a slender margin over Wingate's Poppe. Gunn ran a 13:36.23 in the Stanford University Invitational on April 3, 2026.

For the Wingate women, junior
Evie Brooks was the top NCAA Division II finisher in the 109-competitor open 5000 meters. Her NCAA Division II provisional time of 16:36.61 is the second-fastest time in the South Atlantic Conference this season.

Sira Bo and sophomore
Firdaouss Hriche ran the top two SAC times this season in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase. Bo posted a 10:33.30, while Hriche was right behind at 10:33.94. The aforementioned marks are No. 14 and No. 15 in the NCAA Division II this year.
