Box Score Anderson, S.C.----The Anderson University Trojans scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning Friday afternoon, rallying for a 6-5 victory over seventh-seeded Wingate University in game one of the best-of-three SAC softball tournament series. The Trojans improve to 35-10 overall, while the Bulldogs fall to 26-19 on the season. The teams meet again Saturday at 1 p.m. If Wingate wins, they will play one more game Saturday afternoon, with the winner advancing to the championship round.

- She scored on Griffin's RBI single to give Wingate an early 1-0 lead

THIRD INNING

- Higginbotham started things with a one-out single
- Huneycutt followed with an infield single to put two on for the 'Dogs
- Simmons launched a three-run homer to left center to give the Bulldogs a 4-0 lead
- Jenna Davis led off the bottom of the frame with a triple
- She scored on a Chloe Maness RBI double to get Anderson on the board

FIFTH INNING

- Anderson pulled within two on a double steal
- Carson Hobbs connected on a two-run homer to tie it at four

SEVENTH INNING

- Huneycutt started the inning with a single, then moved to second on a groundout
- McFadden gave Wingate a 5-4 lead with a two-out RBI double to left center
- A Shelby Brandt one-out bunt single started the AU rally in the bottom of the inning
- Hobbs tied it with an RBI double
- Lauren Brakovec followed with the game-winning RBI double

WRAPUP

- Hobbs got the win, allowing a run on six hits in 4 2/3 innings, striking out four
- Thomas took the loss, allowing five runs on eight hits in 4 1/3 innings, striking out seven
