Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.----The top-ranked Wingate University women's golf team delivered a historic performance at PGA National Wednesday, winning the stroke play portion of the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship by an incredible 20-shot margin.

The Bulldogs closed the three-round stroke play tournament at 13-over-par after posting a one-over-par final round, separating themselves from the rest of the national championship field with one of the most dominant team performances of the season.

Wingate led the championship in most birdies and fewest bogeys. The Bulldogs topped the field in par-three, par-four and par-five scoring, showcasing complete control throughout the tournament.

Amely Bochaton, the No. 1 ranked player in the nation, captured the NCAA Division II individual national championship in dominant fashion — the first in Wingate golf history
- Bochaton fired a four-under-par final round with seven birdies
- She won the individual title by 13 shots

With the dominant stroke play victory, Wingate now advances to the medal match play portion of the NCAA Championship as the No. 1 seed, continuing one of the greatest seasons in program history. The Bulldogs will play No. 31 Missouri-St. Louis in the quarterfinals Friday.
