IWLCA All-Americans | USA Lacrosse All-Americans
Northborough, Mass.----For the second consecutive season and third time in the last five years, the SAC regular season and tournament champion Wingate University Bulldogs have multiple All-Americans.
Kathryn McCabe and
Stacy Glover have both earned IWLCA third team All-American accolades, officials announced Wednesday afternoon. In addition, McCabe is a USA Lacrosse second team All-American, with Glover collecting honorable mention recognition.
The first All-American in Wingate women's lacrosse history came in 2022, when
Leah Knowles earned IWLCA second team accolades to go along with USA Lacrosse third team honors. The following season, Knowles earned second team recognition from both publications, while
Megan Biase earned IWLCA third team honors and
Paige Kamer collected USA Lacrosse third team accolades. Knowles collected two more second team trophies in 2024, while last year saw McCabe and
Megan Millard both pick up IWLCA third team accolades.
McCabe joins Knowles as the only Bulldogs to earn All-American accolades in back-to-back years, while also joining Knowles as the only Bulldog to be named to both All-American squads in the same season. The junior repeated as the SAC Defensive Player of the Year, while also collecting IWLCA first team All-Region honors and picking up All-SAC Tournament accolades.
McCabe piled up 49 caused turnovers on the year, adding 94 draw controls and 60 ground balls. She led the SAC in CTs, ranking third in draw controls and ground balls. McCabe ranked in the top 25 nationally in ground balls and caused turnovers. She was a huge factor in Wingate once again leading the nation in caused turnovers per game (16.00), while also playing a key role in the nation's top-ranked draw control percentage team (.706).
Glover also makes history, becoming the first freshman in program history be named to an All-American team. She adds this honor to a massive freshman season that saw her earn SAC Freshman of the Year accolades while also being named the SAC Attacker of the Year. Glover picked up first team All-SAC accolades, while also collecting IWLCA first team All-Region honors and earning a spot on the All-SAC Tournament Team.
Glover poured in 73 goals, breaking Wingate's single-season goals record. She added five assists to register a team-best 78 points, which ranks fifth in WU single-season history. Glover led the SAC in goals and ranked second in the league in points. She finished seventh nationally in total goals and 11th in goals per game. Glover's huge season included a Wingate-record 10 goals in the win at Tusculum, while also piling up eight goals in the victory at Anderson.
