Wingate’s Amely Bochaton selected for prestigious Arnold Palmer Cup

Orlando, Fla.----Wingate University sophomore standout Amely Bochaton has been selected to compete in the 2026 Arnold Palmer Cup, one of the most prestigious events in collegiate golf. The No. 1 ranked player in NCAA Division II was announced Tuesday as a member of Team USA for the international event, which will take place July 3-5 at Tralee Golf Links in West Barrow, Ireland.

Bochaton's selection represents a monumental achievement not only for her individually, but also for the Wingate women's golf program. She is one of only two non-Division I players selected across both the men's and women's teams, joining Washington and Lee's Jonathan McEwen.

The Arnold Palmer Cup is a Ryder Cup-style collegiate golf competition featuring the top men's and women's players from the United States competing against the world's top international collegiate golfers. Co-founded by Arnold Palmer and the Golf Coaches Association of America in 1997, the event has become one of the premier showcases in amateur and collegiate golf.

The tournament is known for bringing together many of the best collegiate players in the world, with past participants going on to become stars on the PGA Tour and LPGA Tour. More than 250 former Palmer Cup participants have earned PGA, LPGA or DP World Tour cards, while dozens have represented their countries in the Ryder Cup, Presidents Cup or Solheim Cup competitions.

Bochaton's selection places her alongside some of the biggest names in collegiate golf and further solidifies her standing as one of the top amateur players in the world. She also becomes the first player in Wingate program history to earn selection to the Arnold Palmer Cup.

The sophomore from Evian Les Bains, France has put together one of the greatest seasons in NCAA Division II history. Bochaton has spent the season ranked No. 1 nationally in NCAA Division II while leading the Bulldogs with a 69.2 scoring average and six individual victories. She played a major role in helping Wingate secure the South Atlantic Conference Championship and NCAA South Regional title, while leading the Bulldogs into the NCAA Championship as the nation's top-ranked team.

The Arnold Palmer Cup is also unique in that it features both men and women competing side-by-side in team competition, making it one of the few elite international golf events with this format. Since 2018, the event has combined both men's and women's collegiate golf into one unified competition.

Bochaton will now have the opportunity to represent Team USA on an international stage against many of the world's top collegiate golfers at one of Ireland's premier golf courses, adding another milestone to an already historic season for Wingate women's golf.
