Valdosta, Ga.----The No. 3 Wingate University men's golf team secured its place in the NCAA Division II Championship on Saturday, closing the NCAA South/Southeast Regional with an even-par final round to finish at one-over-par for the tournament. The Bulldogs delivered a composed performance throughout the final day, earning one of the qualifying spots to nationals against one of the strongest regional fields in NCAA Division II men's golf.
 
Final round quick hits
 
- Lewis Beeden, the No. 1 ranked player in the nation, closed with a one-over-par round featuring three birdies
- Beeden finished the tournament at five-under-par, tying for 11th overall
- Brandon Skidmore delivered one of the Bulldogs' best rounds of the day
- Skidmore fired a one-under-par round with four birdies
- He finished the tournament at two-over-par, placing 34th overall
- Cole Rouse added a steady even-par round
- Rouse recorded three birdies in the final round
- Mattia D'Errico also posted an even-par round with three birdies
- D'Errico finished the tournament at seven-over-par overall
