Wingate University track and field freshman jumper Vanisha Wilshire (Louisburg, N.C.) had a big weekend at the Charlotte 49er Classic. She posted a school-record mark of 11.88 meters in the women's triple jump.

The leap makes her a 2016 NCAA Division II provisional qualifier in the triple jump. Also, Wilshire posted a personal-best long jump mark of 5.62 meters. She was the top NCAA Division II finisher in both events at the Charlotte 49er Classic.
