Denton continues to prove she is one of the top golfers in the region. This year, she has two top-five finishes, six top-10 outings and eight appearances in the top 20. On Monday night, she was named the Wingate women’s golf MVP.

At the recent Food Lion South Atlantic Conference women’s golf championships, Denton was named All-SAC and All-SAC tournament. Denton finished seventh with rounds of 79, 75 and 80 (234). She is averaging 78.2 strokes per round this season.

In her last regular season event, Denton finished second in the Agnes McAmis Memorial in Greeneville, Tenn. She posted a three-under-par 141 in the 36-hole event. Denton posted career-best rounds of 71 and 70 April 12-13, 2010. She placed fourth in her home event, the 10th annual J. Ralph Hargett Memorial Intercollegiate (March 29-30, 2010). She posted rounds of 81 and 78 to compile a two-day total of 159.
