Newberry, S.C.----Due to the threat of inclement weather, Wingate’s softball doubleheader at Newberry College, originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon, has been moved to Friday. Game one will start at 1 p.m. The Bulldogs enter the weekend 17-14-1 overall and 1-5 in the SAC. The Wolves are 13-3 overall and 1-5 in the conference.
Wingate is coming off a doubleheader sweep against Bloomsburg on Tuesday. The Bulldogs rallied for a 3-2 win in game one on a game-winning walk-off RBI single from senior outfielder
Kelsey Maffucci (Rockledge, Fla.) in the bottom of the seventh. Wingate added a 5-1 victory in game two to complete the sweep. The Bulldogs swept a home doubleheader against Newberry last season, winning 5-0 and 6-2.
