Pembroke, N.C.----The 15th-ranked UNC Pembroke Braves plated eight runs in the final two innings Tuesday night en route to an 11-0 victory over the visiting Bulldogs of Wingate University in NCAA Division II baseball action. The Braves improve to 23-8 overall, while Wingate sees its eight-game winning streak come to an end, falling to 22-13 on the season.
Daniel Fraga was two-for-three with a double, three RBI and two runs scored to lead the UNCP attack.
Dalton Knight also had a double, three RBI and two runs scored for the Braves, while
Jordan Edgerton went three-for-five with three RBI.
Chad Whitehead was one-for-two with an RBI and two runs scored.

Brad Cherry (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.) was one-for-two to lead the Wingate offense. Freshman outfielder

Brian Yeung (Raleigh, N.C.) each added a hit for the Bulldogs.
UNC Pembroke got on the board in the first. Fraga led off the inning by drawing a walk, then stole second. He would go to third on a groundout, then score on an RBI groundout from Edgerton.
The Braves added two more in the fifth.
Zade Denton started the inning with a single, while bunt singles from
Drew Cole and
Drew Alford loaded the bases with no outs. Whitehead drove home the first run of the frame with a sacrifice fly, while a sacrifice fly from Fraga made it 3-0.
UNC Pembroke added four more runs in the seventh. Fraga got it started with an RBI double, while a two-run single from Knight pushed the lead to six. Edgerton added an RBI single to give the Braves a 7-0 lead.
The Braves plated four more runs in the eighth to push the advantage to 11. Fraga got it started with an RBI single, while Knight’s RBI double made it 9-0. A wild pitch, followed by Edgerton’s RBI single pushed the lead into double figures for UNCP.
Connor Pratt got the win for the Braves, improving to 1-1. He allowed just four hits in six innings of work, striking out two. Freshman right-hander
CJ Harris (Clover, S.C.) took the loss, falling to 1-5 on the year. He allowed six earned runs on eight hits in 6 1/3 innings of work, striking out five.
Wingate is back in action Wednesday, hosting Francis Marion at 6 p.m.
