Erin Murphy (Mooresville, N.C.) had three goals and two assists to lead the Bulldogs to an 18-7 South Atlantic Conference victory over Brevard at the Irwin Belk Track Complex turf field Saturday. Wingate improves to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the SAC. Brevard is 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the SAC.

Bounds (28:54) and Barrett (26:23) traded goals to start the game, knotting the score at 1-1. Murphy scored the game-winner two minutes later, thanks to an assist from sophomore midfield

Madison LaBarbera (Colchester, Conn.) concluded the Bulldog explosion with a free position goal, giving the hosts a 12-3 lead with 3:59 left in the opening frame. The Bulldogs led 13-4 at intermission.
The Bulldogs doubled up the Tornados in the shots department with 30 attempts to Brevard's 15. Wingate also held a 52-49 advantage in ground balls. The Bulldogs converted five-of-nine free position shots, while the Tornados could manage only one free position goal in six free position shots.

Nicole Hinkle (Fallston, Md.) collected her third triumph of the young season, allowing seven goals and posting four saves in 60 minutes. Two freshman goalies played one half each for the Tornados.
Shelby Arsenault (Shallow Lake, Ontario) played the first half, surrendering 13 goals and recording five saves.
Kayla Henderson (Shreveport, La.) played the second half. She gave up five goals and posted one save.
Wingate will make the short trip down Highway 74 Wednesday, visiting St. Andrews University for a 4 p.m. contest. Brevard visits Conference Carolinas member Converse Wednesday at 6 p.m.
