#45 Bulldogs sweep Golden Bulls Sunday

Charlotte, N.C.----The 45th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs picked up a 9-0 victory at Johnson C. Smith Sunday afternoon in NCAA Division II men's tennis action. Wingate improves to 1-1 overall, while the Golden Bulls fall to 0-4 on the season.

The Bulldogs rolled through doubles play, dropping only two sets in the three matches. The number one doubles team of senior Sebastian Hall (Lorrach, Germany) and junior Connor Kudrick (Spring, Texas) won 8-2 at number one doubles. Sophomore Amir Zari (Jerusalem, Israel) and freshman Duncan Addison (Halifax, Canada) along with sophomore Josh DuToit (Charlotte, N.C.) and freshman Bram Delisse (Oss, Netherlands) cruised to 8-0 victories at number two and three doubles.

Kudrick won 6-0, 6-0 at number one singles, while Zari won by identical scores at two singles. Sophomore Nicholas Oliveira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) also picked up a 6-0, 6-0 victory at three singles, while senior Westin Bennett (Calgary, Alberta) prevailed 6-1, 6-1 at four singles. Delisse and sophomore Jerome Desrosiers (Drummondville, Quebec) cruised to 6-0, 6-0 wins at five and six singles.

The Bulldogs are back in action Wednesday, traveling to NC A&T for a 2 p.m. match.
