#1 Queens takes home triumph over #8 Wingate Saturday

Charlotte, N.C.----The number one Queens University of Charlotte Royals won 12 events Saturday morning, earning a 166-79 Bluegrass Mountain Conference dual meet triumph over number eight Wingate University in the Levine Center. Four Royals won multiple individual events in the victory.
 
Wingate freshman Lukas Kraft (Steinheim, Germany) won the 100 Freestyle with his triumphant time of 45.58. Kraft also collected a silver medal and a bronze medal. He finished second in the 50 Freestyle (21.02) and third in the 100 Backstroke (51.18).
 
Bulldog senior team captain Sebastian Holmberg (Njutanger, Sweden) and freshman David Granados Doblas (Olot, Spain) earned two individual silver medals each. Holmberg was second in the 100 Butterfly (49.84) and second in the 200 Individual Medley (1:52.65). Granados Doblas posted second-place finishes in the 100 Backstroke (50.44) and the 200 Backstroke (1:50.95).
 
Holmberg finished his day by leading Wingate to a second-place finish in the 400 Freestyle Relay (3:05.00). Holmberg swam the anchor leg; he was joined (in order) by senior Lennart Queiss (Langen, Germany) and freshmen Marco Farber Gonzalez (Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany) and Ben Riggs (Greensboro, N.C.).
 
Queens senior Nick Arakelian (Livonia, Mich.) won three individual events to lead the hosts, touching first in the 100 Breaststroke (55.27), the 200 Individual Medley (1:49.36) and the 200 Breaststroke (2:02.57). Royals junior Marius Kusch (Kassel, Germany) won two individual events and swam the first leg on Queens' victorious 400 Freestyle Relay quartet to support Arakelian's efforts.
 
Next on the agenda for the Bulldogs is a two-day quad meet in Atlanta, Ga. next Friday and Saturday (Nov. 3-4). NCAA Division III powerhouse Emory University will host the event. The Emory Eagles will be joined by three Bluegrass Mountain Conference schools: Wingate, Carson-Newman and Limestone.
