Box Score Charlotte, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs remained perfect on the 2018 season, cruising to a 9-0 victory at Johnson C. Smith in NCAA Division II women's tennis action Thursday afternoon. Wingate improves to 4-0 on the year, while the Golden Bulls fall to 2-2 overall.

Wingate started the day by sweeping through doubles action, getting an 8-0 win at number one doubles from junior Sydney Homan (Huntsville, Ala.) and freshman Chyi Lee (Wenshan District Taipei, Taiwan). Senior Maria Garcia (San Carlos, Venezuela) teamed with freshman Arianna Ceccaroni (Luxemburg) for an 8-0 victory at two doubles, while freshmen Meredith Lee (Pottstown, Pa.) and Marissa Marks (Germantown, Wisc.) prevailed 8-3 at three doubles.

Chyi Lee picked up her second victory of the day at number one singles, winning 6-1, 6-1. Sophomore Marisa Ostoja (Split, Croatia) prevailed 6-0, 6-1 at two singles, while Meredith Lee rallied for a 6-7, 6-2, 1-0 victory at three singles. Ceccaroni won 6-0, 6-1 at number four singles, while Garcia and Marks picked up 8-0 victories at five and six singles, respectively.

Wingate is back in action Saturday, traveling to USC Aiken for a 1 p.m. start.
