Jefferson City, Tenn.----The 22nd-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs suffered their first setback of the season Saturday afternoon, falling 3-1 at Carson-Newman University in South Atlantic Conference volleyball action. The Eagles won by scores of 25-23, 21-25, 25-22 and 26-24 to improve to 14-5 overall and 8-4 in the SAC. The Bulldogs fall to 19-1 overall and 11-1 in league play.

- Wingate was one of four remaining unbeaten teams in Division II volleyball
- First loss at Carson-Newman since 2005
- The Bulldogs are now 51-14 all-time against the Eagles; 18-8 at Carson-Newman
