Mount Olive, N.C.----The 23rd-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs opened the season in emphatic fashion, cruising to a 7-0 victory at the University of Mount Olive in NCAA Division II women's tennis action Tuesday afternoon. Wingate starts the season 1-0, while the Trojans fall to 0-1 overall.  

DOUBLES

- Newcomer Alisa Rudenko teamed with senior Sydney Homan for a 7-5 win at one doubles
- Senior Claudia De Andreis and freshman Camilla Ciacci rolled to a 6-0 victory at number two doubles
- Sophomore Marissa Marks and freshman Riann Hsu finished off the doubles sweep with a 7-5 win at three doubles
- Wingate picked up the doubles point, taking a 1-0 lead to singles play

SINGLES

- Homan cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at number five singles to put Wingate on top 2-0
- Rudenko's 6-1, 6-1 victory at one singles made it 3-0
- De Andreis prevailed 6-4, 7-6 at number three singles
- Hsu won 6-1, 6-3 at two singles to give the 'Dogs a 5-0 advantage
- Ciacci won 7-6, 6-2 at four singles; Marks prevailed 6-3, 6-3 at six singles, making the final 7-0
