Carson Simpson drove in eight runs Saturday as the Bulldogs opened league play with a doubleheader sweep over visiting Queens University in South Atlantic Conference baseball action at Ron Christopher Stadium and Plyler Athletic Field. Wingate won the opener 6-3, while scoring 10 runs in the final two innings of game two in a 13-5 victory to move to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the SAC. The Royals fall to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in league play.
