Tickets to this week's NCAA Division II baseball championships are free; how to follow the action

Cary, N.C.----The NCAA, along with the town of Cary have announced that all tickets to the NCAA Division II baseball championships will be free. The eight-team, double-elimination tournament will take place June 5-12 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C. Wingate's first game is slated for Sunday at 2 p.m. against Angelo State. For those that are unable to make the trip to Cary, live video and live stats are available for every contest.

The SAC and Southeast Region champion Bulldogs are the number six seed in the Division II World Series, sweeping through the regionals by outscoring opponents 40-17 in four games to claim their first-ever NCAA Division II regional title. This will mark Wingate's first-ever trip to the D2 World Series.

Winners of seven straight and 11 of their last 12, the Bulldogs enter the national championships 34-12 overall, ranked 16th in the most recent NCBWA top 25, which was released right before last week's regionals began. The 'Dogs have outscored opponents 131-47 in their last 12 games, which includes a 4-0 record against top-20 teams. Angelo State is 42-7 overall, checking in at number nine in the most recent poll.

The winner of the Wingate-Angelo State game will face the winner of the Seton Hill vs. Southern New Hampshire contest Tuesday at 6 p.m. The WU-Angelo State loser will face the Seton Hill-Southern New Hampshire loser in an elimination game Tuesday at 2 p.m. The Division II championships run through Saturday, June 12.
