Indianapolis, Ind.----The Wingate University men's and women's swimming team will have six individual student-athletes plus two 400 Freestyle Relay teams competing for national championships in the 2023 NCAA Division II swimming and diving championships inside the Indiana University Natatorium at IUPUI Saturday night. The Navy Blue and Vegas Gold-clad South Atlantic Conference members are concluding the five-day event this evening.

For the Wingate women, graduate student and SAC Swimmer of the Meet
Kate Agger (1650 Freestyle), sophomore
Marta Beesmans Barquero (200 Backstroke) and senior team captain
Lily Sanocki (200 Breaststroke) are looking to add more hardware to the #WUSWIM trophy case. The women's 400 Freestyle Relay quartet enters the race with a 3:22.28 seed time.

For the Bulldog men, senior
Marcel Snitko (200 Freestyle), senior team captain
Slava Ohnov (200 Freestyle) and freshman
Ney Chagas Filho (200 Backstroke) are in the running to occupy the top spot on the Indiana University Natatorium podium. The men's 400 Freestyle Relay team has a 2:55.29 seed time.

Wingate sophomore
Miguel Marcos swam the second-best men's 1650 Freestyle time (15:22.87) during the morning session. The SAC men's Swimmer of the Meet, Marcos improved his seed time by six seconds. Marcos will wait on the results from the final eight swimmers to see where he lands on the All-American charts.

Both the Wingate 400 Freestyle Relay teams are competing in the third of three heats Saturday night. The women's 400 Freestyle Relay is slated to begin at 8:29 p.m. with the men's event following at 8:50 p.m.
