Rock Hill, S.C.----Wingate University sophomore Florian Walcher added another weekly honor to his impressive second season with the Bulldogs, earning Varsity Gems South Atlantic Conference men's tennis Player of the Week accolades for the third time this season. Walcher has taken home three of the five Player of the Week honors this season, hauling in the recognition for the fifth time in his career.

Walcher led the Bulldogs to a dominant 7-0 victory in the SAC opener at Coker over the weekend. He rolled to a 6-0, 6-2 win at number one singles against the Cobras, while teaming with Carlo Rosselini for a 6-4 victory at number two singles.

Walcher is 6-0 at number one singles this season, which includes a 2-0 mark against NCAA Division I opponents while also notching a victory against the top-ranked singles player in Division II. Walcher also has a 6-1 record in doubles play this season, picking up three wins at one doubles and three more at two doubles.

The Bulldogs are back in action Wednesday, hosting Mars Hill at 1 p.m.
