Sumter, S.C.----The second-seeded and 13th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs captured their third SAC Tournament title in the last four seasons Saturday afternoon, prevailing 4-1 over top-seeded and 18th-ranked Tusculum University in South Atlantic Conference women's tennis action. The Bulldogs improve to 19-3 overall, while the Pioneers fall to 17-6 on the season. Wingate has now won 18 total conference titles over the past 12 seasons, adding this title to the regular season championship. The victory gives the Bulldogs seven SAC Tournament championships all time, along with the 12 regular season titles.  

DOUBLES

- Chloe Kosmrlj teamed with Suzuka Sambyakugari for a 6-3 win at one doubles
- Elena Gunfaus and Alex Lopez prevailed 6-3 at two doubles to clinch the point
- Wingate took a 1-0 lead into singles play

SINGLES

- Sambyakugari won 6-2, 7-5 at four singles
- Kosmrlj prevailed 6-2, 4-6, 6-0 at number one singles to put WU on top 3-1
- Flaminia Guidantoni won the clincher at five singles, winning 7-5, 7-6 (8-6)
- Gunfaus was in the third set at three singles when the match was clinched
- Gaya Solomon was tied 6-6 in the second set at two singles after dropping set one
- Kosmrlj was named the SAC Tournament MVP
- She went unbeaten at one singles, adding two wins at one doubles
- Kosmrlj won the clincher in the SAC semis over the SAC Player of the Year, giving the 'Dogs the 4-3 win
