D2CCA All-Americans
Marshall, Minn.----The Wingate University Bulldogs had a pair of players earn first team All-American honors from the D2CCA. Redshirt junior left-hander 
Mitch Farris, along with sophomore infielder 
Seaver King are both first team All-Americans. Wingate and Colorado Mesa are the only two teams with multiple first team All-Americans.
Farris is an All-American for the second straight year. The SAC Pitcher of the Year was named the Southeast Region Pitcher of the Year by the ABCA, NCBWA and D2CCA this year. Farris earned SAC Pitcher of the Week seven times in 2023, while earning four Region Player of the Week awards and a pair of National Pitcher of the Week honors.
Farris went 11-1 with a 1.21 ERA on the season, striking out 127 while walking just 16 in 89 innings of work. Opponents hit just .128 against Farris, who posted a 0.62 WHIP this year. He led the nation in strikeouts, WHIP and hits allowed per nine innings, ranking second nationally in ERA, third in strikeout-to-walk ratio and sixth in wins. Farris went at least five innings in all 12 starts, giving up multiple runs just three times. He had five outings without allowing a run, while giving up one run five times and two runs twice. Farris allowed more than four hits in a game just one time in his 12 starts, that saw him go at least seven innings in each of his last nine outings. He struck out at least nine in every start, hitting double figures eight times including an 18-strikeout effort in eight innings against LMU.
King earns All-American honors for the first time in his career. The first team All-SAC honoree earned first team All-Region accolades from the ABCA, NCBWA and D2CCA this year. King piled up 90 hits, ranking seventh in the nation in total hits and third in hits per game. King hit .411 on the year with 20 doubles, five triples and 11 homers, driving in 53 runs while scoring 63 times. The sophomore stole 13 bases in 14 attempts.
King put together a historic 47-game hitting streak, which started in the 2022 regionals and ran through the final game of the 2023 regular season. It is the third-longest streak in NCAA Division II baseball history. He piled up 24 multi-hit games on the year, including 11 three-hit games and three games with four hits. King led the 'Dogs with 14 multiple-RBI contests as well. King led Wingate in average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, runs, hits, RBI, doubles, triples, homers, total bases and stolen bases.
