Final Results
Mars Hill, N.C.----The Wingate University Acrobatics & Tumbling team had their second meet in program history Friday night in Mars Hill, a tri-meet with the Lions and Converse University. Converse won the event, accumulating 261 points, edging out Mars Hill at 257 and Wingate at 240.615.
Wingate got off to a good start in the opening compulsory round, posting a 9.45 in the toss heat while adding an 8.30 in the pyramid heat. The Bulldogs collected a 9.00 in heat one of the acro event, the five-element round. Wingate added a 9.1 in heat three, the seven-element round.
The 'Dogs posted a 9.00 in the Pyramid inversion heat, while adding a 9.45 in the open heat of the Pyramid section. Wingate's toss section was highlighted by scoring an 8.60 in heat one.
The 'Dogs closed out the Tumbling section with an 9.925 in the open pass, the final heat of the section. The Bulldogs closed out the night by accumulating 90.04 points in the team event.
Wingate is back in action next Thursday, traveling to Francis Marion for a 6 p.m. start. The 'Dogs return home March 15, hosting a tri meet at 5 p.m.
