Final Results

Wingate, N.C.----The 14th-ranked Wingate University stayed perfect on the season Thursday night, cruising to a 252.820-177.920 victory over Bluefield State University in NCATA Acro & Tumbling action in Cuddy Arena. Wingate improves to 7-0 on the season, while BSU falls to 0-3 overall.

The Bulldogs got off to a quick start, posting a 9.750 in the Toss heat and 9.700 in the Pyramid heat of the Compulsory section to open up a 12-point lead. Wingate followed by posting a 9.80 in Heat one of the Acro section, adding another eight points to the lead.

The 'Dogs posted a pair of 9.80 scores in the Pyramid section, adding a 9.550 in heat two to collect 29.15 of a possible 30 points to stretch the advantage to 27. The Bulldogs opened the Toss section with a 9.650 in heat one, while closing the frame with a 9.100 in the open heat.

Wingate's Tumbling section was closed out by back-to-back 9.475 scores in the 6-Element Pass and the Open Pass, piling up over 50 points in the section to take a huge lead into the team event. The 'Dogs closed out the night with an 83.820 in the team event, adding 30 more points to the final margin of victory.

Wingate is back in action Friday, April 3, hosting Montevallo and Newberry at 6 p.m. in Cuddy Arena.
