Mount Olive picks up 5-2 victory at Wingate Tuesday

Box Score Wingate, N.C.----The University of Mount Olive Trojans prevailed 5-2 at Wingate University in NCAA Division II baseball action Tuesday afternoon at Ron Christopher Stadium and Plyler Athletic Field. The Trojans improve to 21-8 overall, while the Bulldogs fall to 19-11 on the season.

- Each team had three extra-base hits and a homer
- The Trojans left eight on base; the Bulldogs stranded five

- Rhodes was hit by a pitch to start the inning
- He moved to third on a Michael Dansky single
- An Adams sacrifice fly plated Rhodes to get the 'Dogs on the board

NINTH INNING

- Barnett connected on his 12th homer of the year to make the final margin 5-2

WRAPUP

- Justin Koehler got the win, tossing four shutout frames, allowing two hits while striking out two
- Story took the loss, allowing two earned runs on four hits in 3 1/3 innings, striking out six
