#6 Bulldogs ride strong singles play to 4-1 win over Anderson in SAC Tourney quarterfinals

Box Score Sumter, S.C.----The top-seeded and sixth-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs went 4-0 in singles play Thursday afternoon, prevailing 4-1 over eighth-seeded Anderson University in the quarterfinals of the 2024 South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Tournament at the Palmetto Tennis Center. Wingate wins its 12th straight, improve to 18-1 overall and advancing to Friday's semifinals. The Trojans fall to 12-8 on the season.

DOUBLES

- Anderson picked up wins at two and three doubles to claim the point
- Eva Siska and Suzuka Sambyakugari were tied 5-5 at one doubles when the point was clinched
- The Trojans took a 1-0 lead into singles play

SINGLES

- The nation's 36th-ranked player, Siska won 6-4, 6-2 at one singles
- The nation's 18th-ranked player Chloe Kosmrlj prevailed 7-5, 6-1 at two singles
- Fernanda Castillo won 7-5, 6-2 at four singles
- Claudia Vallejos rallied for an 0-6, 6-2, 6-4 win at five singles to clinch the victory
