Wingate’s Alfie Storer earns SAC Men’s Golfer of the Week recognition

Rock Hill, S.C.----Wingate University senior Alfie Storer (Leeds, England) is the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Men's Golfer of the Week, league officials announce Thursday. Storer receives this honor for the first time in his career.
 
Storer earned his first career medalist trophy at the Patriot Fall Classic October 20-21. Storer and teammate Lewis Beeden completed three rounds tied at 11-under-par 205. Storer prevailed on the second playoff hole. His scorecard included rounds of 68, 67 and 70. The No. 19 golfer in Division II, Storer birdied the last two holes to reach the playoff.
 
Storer's 11-under-par 205 is a career-low, 54-hole score, while his second-round 67 matched his career-low 18 holes. Wingate posted a program-record, 30-under-par total of 834 to win the Patriot Fall Classic by 17 strokes. The Bulldogs are No. 6 in the Wednesday, October 29 Scoreboard powered by Clippd team power rankings.

Wingate will compete in the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday, February 9-10, 2026. South Atlantic Conference rival Lincoln Memorial University hosts the annual 54-hole event on the St. Johns Golf & Country Club layout.
