Pawleys Island, S.C.----The No. 17 Wingate men's golf team led wire-to-wire, taking the team title in the Spring Bulldog Clash Tuesday. The WU Bulldogs finished 54 holes at 15-under-par 825, one shot better than Arkansas-Fort Smith. Barton College hosted this event at the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club (par 70, 6526 yards).

Wingate posted scores of five-under-par 275 and 12-under-par 268 Monday and two-over-par 282 Tuesday on the way to its 825. Arkansas-Fort Smith had a Tuesday-best round of seven-under-par 273 to close the gap, but the Lions would fall one shot back at 826. The Bulldogs have won two tournaments in three spring 2025 starts.

Next on the horizon for No. 17 Wingate
Â
Wingate has a quick turnaround, as the Bulldogs will play in the Lander Bearcat Classic Monday and Tuesday March 3-4. Lander University hosts this event on the Patriot Golf Club at Grand Harbor layout in Ninety-Six, South Carolina. Wingate will look to win back-to-back tournaments for the first time since the 2011-12 season.
