Amelia Talbott have repeated as the South Atlantic Conference beach Volleyball Pair of the Week, league officials announced Wednesday afternoon. The duo earns Pair of the Week accolades for the second time this season.
Talbott and Thieme led the 'Dogs to a 4-2 week, that included a victory over Catawba and a 3-1 weekend hosting the program's first-ever tournament in Indian Trail. The Bulldogs picked up wins over Salem College, Jacksonville State and Lynchburg to go along with the Catawba victory.
Talbott and Thieme went 6-0 on the week without dropping a set at number one. They kicked off the week with a 23-21, 22-20 win in Wingate's 3-2 victory over Catawba, while prevailing 21-19, 21-17 in the second match against the Indians. The pair rolled to a 21-15, 21-7 win over Salem in Wingate's 5-0 win, while cruising to a 21-15, 21-13 win against Jacksonville State, leading the 'Dogs to a 4-1 victory. Talbott and Thieme notched a 21-19, 21-13 win over Lynchburg on Saturday in a 3-2 Wingate win, while capping the week with a 21-16, 21-16 victory against Liberty.
Talbott and Thieme are riding an eight-match winning streak, with all eight victories coming at number one. The duo has lost just one set during the eight-match win streak.
The Bulldogs are back in action Wednesday, traveling to Catawba for a pair of matches.
