Three Bulldogs earn All-Region accolades

Louisville, Ky.----The South Atlantic Conference regular season champion Wingate University Bulldogs had a trio of players earn All-Region accolades. Hannah Stevens has picked up second team All-Region honors from the NFCA and the D2CCA, while Hali Scott is a D2CCA first team selection. Jillian Thomas is a D2CCA second team All-Region honoree.

The duo led Wingate to another impressive season, going 39-23 overall and 18-6 in the SAC, capturing the third straight regular season conference title. The Bulldogs hosted SAC Tourney games for the third straight season, while earning an NCAA Tournament bid for the fourth straight year. The 'Dogs have gone 58-14 in league play over the last three seasons, while piling up 136 total victories.

Stevens was a first team All-SAC outfielder this season. The senior hit .380 with 19 homers, 17 doubles, 59 RBI and 54 runs scored, posting an .804 slugging percentage and .482 on-base percentage. Stevens led the 'Dogs in homers, total bases, runs, slugging percentage and on-base percentage, ranking second on the team in RBI and hits. She ranks fourth in the nation in homers, seventh in total bases and 19th in slugging percentage, while leading the SAC in homers and total bases, ranking fifth in slugging percentage, sixth in runs and ninth in RBI.

Her 19 homers in 2025 are tied for the most in Wingate single-season history, tying classmate Savanna Brooks, who blasted 19 homers in 2024. Stevens hit 29 homers over her final two seasons, giving her 39 for her career, good for second in Wingate softball history. Her 160 career RBI are good for fifth in WU history, along with her 46 career doubles.

Scott is an All-Region honoree for the second straight season, earning first team accolades at the Utility/Pitcher position. The senior had a big year at the plate and in the circle for the SAC champs, hitting .339 with 20 doubles, 14 homers and 60 RBI, scoring 35 runs while posting a .683 slugging percentage and .410 on-base percentage. Scott posted a 9-8 record with a 2.67 ERA and two saves on the year, striking out 117 in 108 innings of work. She tossed four complete games, while ranking second in the SAC in ERA.

Scott led the SAC and ranked eighth in the nation in doubles, while ranking second in the conference and 18th nationally in RBI. The senior was also sixth in the conference in total bases. Scott piled up 24 homers and 30 doubles in her WU career, driving in 102 runs. She also went 45-20 in the circle with a 2.67 career ERA, striking out 402 in 380 innings of work while adding 10 saves.

Thomas led the Bulldogs with her 15 wins, going 15-7 with a 2.70 ERA. She struck out 108 in a team-high 124 2/3 innings of work. Thomas made 20 starts on the year, tossing seven complete games including four shutouts. She held opponents to a .224 average on the season. Thomas ranked fourth in the SAC in ERA, sixth in wins and seventh in strikeouts.
