Box Score Florence, S.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs staved off elimination Friday night, prevailing 12-10 against Flagler College on day two of the NCAA Division II Southeast Region softball tournament. The Bulldogs improve to 39-22 overall, while the Saints end their season at 33-22. Wingate advances to Saturday action, facing Francis Marion at 1 p.m. If the 'Dogs win that game, the teams will play one more game with a trip to the super regional on the line.

- Burns followed with an RBI single to put the 'Dogs on top 3-0
- An RBI single from Brooks extended the lead to four

SECOND INNING

- A Hobgood walk, followed by a Flagler error put two on for the 'Dogs
- Stevens blasted a three-run homer to make it 7-0

THIRD INNING

- A three-run homer from Kiley McQuillan capped a four-run third for Flagler, cutting the lead to three

FOURTH INNING

- A sacrifice fly from Brooke Maher made it 7-5
- A McFadden single, along with a pair of walks loaded the bases for Wingate in the bottom of the frame
- Kramer drew a bases-loaded walk to push the lead back to three

FIFTH INNING

- A Wingate error allowed a Flagler run to score, making it 8-6
- A two-run double from Sydney Stewart tied it at eight
- Emily Ricci followed with an RBI single to give the Saints a 9-8 advantage
- Singles from McLaurin and Hobgood, along with a fielder's choice, loaded the bases for WU
- A McFadden sacrifice fly tied it at nine
- Stevens followed with a sacrifice fly to put the Bulldogs back on top
- Hobgood scored on a wild pitch to stretch the lead to two
- Brooks drew another bases-loaded walk, give Wingate a 12-9 advantage

WRAPUP

- Huneycutt got the win, allowing a run on four hits in 2 1/3 innings
- Alyssa Hunter took the loss, allowing four runs on two hits in 1 1/3 innings, walking six
