Rock Hill, S.C.----Wingate University freshman Ruben LeBron has been named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference men's tennis Player of the Week, league officials announced Monday afternoon. LeBron earns Player of the Week accolades for the first time in her career.

LeBron had a perfect week, leading the #19 Bulldogs to a pair of victories, moving to 4-0 on the season. Wingate prevailed 4-3 over Belmont Abbey on Wednesday, then opened league play with a 4-0 victory at Mars Hill.

LeBron was 2-0 in singles play and 1-0 in doubles play on the week. He started things with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 victory at two singles against Belmont Abbey, then rolled to a 6-0, 6-2 win at one singles against Mars Hill. LeBron teamed with James Snook for a 6-2 victory at three doubles against the Lions.

LeBron is 3-1 in singles play this season, with all matches coming at one or two singles. He also has a 1-0 mark in doubles play.

The Bulldogs are back in action Wednesday, hosting Coker at 10 a.m.
