Wingate, N.C.----Freshman sprinter
Dre Davis (Wadesboro, N.C.) is off to a phenomenal start to his Wingate career, quickly establishing himself as one of the fastest student-athletes in Bulldog history. Davis broke the indoor 200 meters school record in his first collegiate competition. Each time he has run it since, he continues to better that mark, from 21.77 to 21.66, and most recently 21.40.
Davis' rapid emergence is only one of many highlights in what has been an historic indoor campaign for Wingate Track & Field. The Bulldogs have seen multiple standout performances, including the following school records:

"Dre has made an immediate impact on our program," Wingate sprints, hurdles and jumps coach
John Tillman says. "His work ethic, competitive mindset and willingness to embrace the training system whole-heartedly have allowed him to perform at a high level early in his career. The coaching staff believes he is only getting started."
With the championship portion of the season on the horizon, Davis continues to emerge as a key contributor for a Wingate program that is on the rise.

Wingate University
