Isaiah Vick has been named to the All-SAC Freshman Team, league officials announced Tuesday afternoon when the regular season men's basketball awards were announced.
Vick has started all 28 games during his first season at Wingate, pouring in 11.7 points per contest. He is also collecting a team-best 7.1 rebounds per game, adding 41 assists, 27 steals and 20 blocked shots. Vick is shooting 52 percent from the field, knocking down 24 threes on 40 percent shooting while also shooting 72 percent at the free throw line.
Vick has scored in double figures 16 times this season, collecting five double-doubles. He had 19 points and 15 rebounds against Mount Olive, while pouring in 30 points against West Virginia State, adding eight boards and two blocks. Vick had 12 points and 10 rebounds against Belmont Abbey, while notching back-to-back double-doubles against LR and Carson-Newman. He had 22 points on eight-of-10 shooting against Mars Hill, while going eight-for-11 against Coker to score 22 points, adding nine boards and two steals. Vick had 17 points and seven rebounds against LMU, collecting 16 points and eight boards against Coker. He had 21 points and five rebounds against Coker on nine-of-12 shooting.
Wingate is the number eight seed in this week's SAC Tournament. The Bulldogs will face top-seeded and seventh-ranked Anderson Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the SAC Tourney quarterfinals in Rock Hill, S.C.
