Four Bulldogs earn NCAA Division II PING All-Southeast Region honors

Norman, Okla.----The Wingate University men's golf team earned major national recognition this week, as four Bulldogs were named to the 2026 NCAA Division II PING All-Southeast Region Team, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
 
Lewis Beeden, Mattia D'Errico, Brandon Skidmore and Alfie Storer received all-region honors following one of the strongest seasons in program history for the Bulldogs. Wingate was the only program to place four players on the All-Southeast Region Team, further highlighting the depth and consistency that helped elevate the Bulldogs into the national spotlight this season.

Lewis Beeden
No. 2 golfer in D2 | No. 1 regional ranking
 
Beeden led the Bulldogs with a 69.4 adjusted scoring average across 38 rounds while recording two victories and three top-three finishes during the season. The senior earned SAC Men's Golfer of the Year honors, first team All-SAC recognition and Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year finalist honors.
 
Brandon Skidmore
No. 22 golfer in D2 | No. 8 regional ranking
 
A sophomore, Skidmore posted a 70.6 adjusted scoring average across 38 rounds while recording one victory and one top-three finish during the season. His steady scoring and ability to produce low rounds played a major role in Wingate's postseason success.
 
Alfie Storer
No. 35 golfer in D2 | No. 13 regional ranking
 
Storer continued his strong campaign with a 71.0 adjusted scoring average over 38 rounds. The senior recorded one victory and one top-three finish during the season. Storer's consistency throughout the year made him one of the key contributors in Wingate's lineup during both stroke play and match play competition.
 
Mattia D'Errico
No. 38 golfer in D2 | No. 14 regional ranking
 
D'Errico earned all-region recognition after posting a 71.1 adjusted scoring average across 26 rounds while consistently contributing strong scores throughout the year. His play as a freshman added important depth to one of the strongest lineups in NCAA Division II.
 
National recognition for Wingate golf
 
The PING All-Region teams recognize the top golfers across NCAA Division II and are considered one of the premier honors in collegiate golf.
 
Having four players earn all-region recognition further solidifies Wingate's standing as one of the nation's elite programs and highlights the continued success of the Bulldogs under head coach JD Lamm.
 
Wingate's all-region selections cap off another historic season for the Bulldogs as the program continues to establish itself among the premier teams in NCAA Division II golf.
