Six Bulldogs earn All-American accolades; Butrico, Tillett and Moran collect first team accolades

Louisville, Ky.----The South Atlantic Conference regular season champion Wingate University Bulldogs had six players collect All-American accolades from the USILA and USA Lacrosse Magazine. Vinny Butrico and Graham Tillett are USILA first team All-Americans, with Kyle Spence earning second team honors and Joey Moran picking up third team accolades. Mason McGivern is an honorable mention USILA All-American. Spence collects first team accolades from USA Lacrosse Magazine, with Moran and Tillett earning second team recognition and Butrico picking up third team honors. McGivern and Quad Williams are USA Lacrosse Magazine honorable mention All-Americans.

Butrico is an All-American for the first time in his career. The SAC Offensive Player of the Year was also named the USILA Region Offensive Player of the Year. He poured in 68 goals this year, adding 17 assists for 85 points, adding 34 ground balls. He led the SAC in goals while ranking third in points. Butrico ranked second in the nation in total goals and goals per game (4.00). He scored multiple goals in 15 of 17 games, while scoring five or more goals seven times including a WU-record 11-goal effort at #2 Anderson.

Spence is an All-American for the second straight year, earning first team honors from both publications last year. The senior was also a first team All-SAC and All-Region selection this year. Spence led the 'Dogs with 86 points, ranking second in the conference while ranking second nationally in assists and assists per game. He ranked eighth nationally in points per game on the season. Spence had multiple points in every game this season, going for nine points in the season opener, while notching back-to-back eight-point performances against North Greenville and LMU.

Tillett is an All-American for the first time in his career. The first team All-SAC and All-Region defender was named the 2026 SAC Defensive Player of the Year. He was a key factor in a WU defense that ranked second in scoring defense during the regular season. Tillett led the Bulldogs with 24 caused turnovers, while also piling up 43 ground balls, good for second on the team. He had at least one CT in 12 of 17 games this season, posting four-CT efforts against Florida Southern and North Greenville, adding three CTs and five ground balls at Mars Hill.

Moran is an All-American for the second straight season, earning third team honors from the USILA and USA Lacrosse Magazine last year. The senior earned first team All-SAC and second team All-Region honors in 2026. Moran piled up 48 points from the midfield position, compiling 36 goals and 12 assists to go along with 18 ground balls and 10 CTs. He ranked third on the team in goals and fourth in points. Moran notched at least one point in every game this season, registering four goals and an assist in the win over #12 Catawba while adding three goals and an assist in the SAC title game. He also had back-to-back four-goal efforts in regular season wins over #2 Anderson and Mars Hill.

Williams earns honorable mention All-American recognition for the first time in his career. The first team All-SAC goalie earned honorable mention All-Region accolades. The senior started all 17 games, piling up 152 saves for the Bulldogs. He posted a .481 save percentage on the season. Williams ranked third in the SAC in goals-against average and fourth in save percentage. He had double-digit saves eight times on the year, going for 14 saves in the season opener while piling up 16 saves in the win at #2 Anderson, collecting 15 saves in the win over #12 Catawba.

McGivern collects All-American honors for the first time in his career. The senior earned second team All-SAC honors at the short-stick midfield, adding honorable mention All-Region accolades. Another huge factor in one of the league's top defenses, McGivern piled up 29 ground balls, adding 12 caused turnovers. McGivern had multiple ground balls eight times on the year, piling up four CTs and four ground balls against North Greenville, while adding a CT and four ground balls at Belmont Abbey.

WINGATE UNIVERSITY

Wingate University is a lab of difference-making that serves more than 3,600 students in North Carolina and offers 60 degree pathways, including 37 undergraduate majors, 9 pre-professional tracks and five dual-degree programs.
