Wingate sophomore Marko Blazevski (Skopje, Macedonia) collected three individual victories at the 2012 Winter College Invitational in Daytona Beach. The 2011 NCAA Division II national champion (400 Individual Medley) touched first in the 200 Butterfly (1:56.47), the 200 Breaststroke (2:17.12) and the 200 Individual Medley (1:59.37).
On the NCAA Division II charts, Blazevski has five top 10 swims this year. He is third in the 400 Individual Medley (3:54.63) and the 1650 Freestyle (15:37.61). Blazevski is fourth in the 1000 Freestyle (9:26.71) and fifth in the 500 Freestyle (4:29.47). In the 200 Butterfly, he has the 10th-fastest time this season (1:49.47).
In addition to his gold medal in the 400 IM, Blazevski was a 2011 NCAA Division II All-American in the 1000 Freestyle and the 800 Freestyle Relay. He was an honorable mention All-American choice in the 200 Butterfly.
The nationally-ranked Wingate teams host Lenoir-Rhyne University Saturday, Jan. 21 for Senior Day. The first event at the Wingate University Natatorium begins at 11 a.m. The Bulldogs will honor their senior class in a mid-meet ceremony the same day.
