George Williams had an NCAA qualifying height of 2.11 meters in the men’s high jump, winning the event at the inaugural Wingate Invitational Friday. The leap is a new outdoor personal record (PR) for Williams, who completed the indoor season as a first team All-American in the same event. Williams is currently third in the NCAA Division II in the high jump. “George is having a year to remember,” Wingate assistant track and field coach Travis LeFlore says. “He’s solidified his place as one of the top high jumpers in the country.”
