Wingate University freshman student-athlete Ben Evans (Dover, England) made a big splash at his first Bluegrass Mountain Conference championship meet, winning two distance events and earning a bronze medal in a third. He posted NCAA Division II “B” cuts in each of his three BMC swims.
 
On Wednesday night, Evans won the 1000 Freestyle with his triumphant time of 9:12.55. He concluded his week by winning the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 15:31.71 Saturday. In between his gold medal swims, Evans finished third in the 500 Freestyle with his time of 4:29.43 Thursday.
