ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® candidate Junior Nyemb (Douala, Cameroon) scored the match-winner in the 70th minute as Wingate blanked number 23 Limestone 2-0 Saturday afternoon. The senior forward found the back of the nets from close range.

 

The visiting Bulldogs scored twice in the final 20 minutes of the match. Year-in-and-year-out, Wingate (1-1 overall) is one of the top teams in the NCAA Division II Southeast Region.

 

Nyemb was named to the Daktronics men’s soccer All-Southeast Region second team in 2008. In addition, he is a two-time NSCAA All-Appalachian Region first team selection. In 2008, Nyemb led the Bulldogs with 16 goals on the season. He was second in the league in goals scored. 

 

A second team All-SAC selection in 2008, Nyemb was fourth in the league with 33 points. He was second in the league with six match-winners on the year. A top-flight student, Nyemb has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III men’s soccer second team two consecutive seasons. Nyemb is a three-time All-SAC selection (second team in 2006 and 2008 and first team in 2007).
