Sumter, S.C.----The second-seeded and 13th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs punched their ticket to the SAC title match Friday afternoon, prevailing 4-3 over third-seeded and 15th-ranked Newberry College in the semifinals of the South Atlantic Conference women's tennis tournament. Wingate improves to 18-3 overall, advancing to Saturday's SAC title match, while the Wolves fall to 16-4 on the season.

DOUBLES

- Gaya Solomon and Saga Berggren prevailed 6-4 at number three doubles
- Newberry picked up a 7-5 victory at one doubles to make it 1-1
- Elena Gunfaus and Alex Lopez won 7-6 at two doubles to clinch the doubles point
- Wingate took a 1-0 lead into singles play

SINGLES

- Newberry tied it at 1-1 with a win at two singles
- Fernanda Castillo prevailed 6-4, 6-3 at six singles to put WU on top 2-1
- Suzuka Sambyakugari won 6-1, 4-6, 6-1 at three singles to give the 'Dogs a 3-1 lead
- The Wolves picked up victories at four and five singles to tie it at three
- The match came down to a showdown at number one singles
- Chloe Kosmrlj won the opening set 6-2, but dropped set two 3-6
- The final set decided the match, and went to a tiebreaker tied 6-6
- Kosmrlj took down the SAC Player of the Year 7-2 in the tiebreaker to send WU to the title match
