No. 2 Wingate is second after 36 holes in LeeAnn Noble Memorial

Dahlonega, Ga.----The No. 2 Wingate University women's golf team is second after two rounds of the 12th annual LeeAnn Noble Memorial Monday. The Bulldogs have a six-under-par 570 entering the third and final round. The University of North Georgia hosts this annual event at the Achasta Golf Club.
 
Wingate shot a two-under-par 286 in the morning round and a four-under-par 284 in the evening session. No. 5 Anderson leads the LeeAnn Noble Memorial after 36 holes with a 14-under-par 562. The AU Trojans had a 10-under-par 278 in the first round and a four-under-par 284 in the second round.
 
Sophomore Olivia Meinecke is tied for fifth place at four-under-par 140. She had a three-under-par 69 in the first round and a one-under-par 71 in the second stanza. In the first round, Meinecke had an eagle on the par five, 456-yard hole No. 6. She had 11 birdies Monday to lead the Bulldogs, six in the first round and five in the second session.
 
Sophomore Amely Bochaton and senior Lauren Sutcliffe are tied for 12th place at even-par 144. Bochaton's scorecard includes rounds of 75 and 69, while Sutcliffe posted rounds of 73 and 71. Bochaton's second round included an eagle on the par five, 429-yard hole No. 15.
 
Sophomore Haley Paramore and senior Thalia Perez-Vieco shot identical 147s Monday. Paramore recorded rounds of 70 and 77, while Perez-Vieco carded rounds of 74 and 73. Paramore's first-round tally of two-under-par 70 is her collegiate low round.
 
Anderson teammates Aly Francis and Olivia Pellerin are first and second, respectively, on the individual leader board. Francis shot a nine-under-par 135 Monday, while Pellerin is one shot back at eight-under-par 136. Eleven student-athletes finished Monday's play under par, including Wingate's Meinecke, who is five shots behind Francis entering Tuesday's third round.
 
Up next for the No. 2 Wingate Bulldogs
 
The 16 teams and 90 student-athletes in this year's LeeAnn Noble Memorial will return to action Tuesday for the third and final round on the Achasta Golf Club layout. The third-round shotgun start is slated to begin at 9 a.m.
