Toccoa, Ga.----The No. 1 Wingate University women's golf team shot a 294 in the first round of the Ralph Hayes Toyota D2 Elite Invitational Sunday. Anderson University is hosting this event at the Currahee Golf Club.
 
Due to weather conditions, only nine teams finished 18 holes Sunday. Nine teams remained on the course when Sunday play was halted. Tournament organizers will convene at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning to give an update about Monday play.
