St. Simons Island, Ga.----The No. 2 Wingate University women's golf team leads the St. Simons Intercollegiate following the first round of play Sunday. The Bulldogs shot a two-over-par 290 Sunday to take a four-stroke lead over West Florida. Hosted by fellow South Atlantic Conference member Lincoln Memorial, the 54-hole event takes place at
The King and The Prince Beach & Golf Club.

Four of Wingate's five student-athletes are listed in the top 15 (and ties). Junior
Jacqueline Gonzalez Howard is tied for second at one-under-par 71. Sophomore All-American
Amely Bochaton is tied for fifth at even-par 72. Gonzalez Howard and sophomore
Haley Paramore had five birdies each Sunday.

Paramore is next on the Bulldog charts, tied for seventh place at one-over-par 73. Senior
Thalia Perez-Vieco is tied for 14th place at two-over-par 74. Playing as an individual, senior
Lauren Sutcliffe shot a four-over-par 76. Sophomore
Olivia Meinecke had a five-over-par 77 Sunday.
